Conversation: Community-Engaged Art in times of Physical Distancing

What is the work of community-engaged artists in the here and now? What challenges do we face? What channels of collaborative art-making and engagement have we been using to bring communities together in remote time and place? What are the opportunities in all of this to address issues of equity, accessibility and inclusion within the field which pre-date this crisis? What tools, resources and supports do we need to do this work now? What tools, resources and supports do we have to give?

The discussion will include: 

• Brief introductions of everyone on the call
• Outlining the current challenges you're focused on 
• Sharing ideas, tools, resources and supports
• A brief Q&A with the various arts service organizations on the call 

It is our intention for this conversation to serve as a first step in coordinating a network of support and collaboration through and beyond this moment of crisis. Main points of discussion will be recorded and shared among participants. This conversation will also help inform imminent programming, relief efforts and support offered by Arts Network Ottawa and other participating organizations. 

A zoom link to the conversation will be sent to you via email along with a loose agenda to help orient our conversation.
